
Dr. Georgios Arabatzis
Dr. Arabatzis studied philosophy in Paris, France, under scholarship from the French Government and obtained his Ph.D. with honors from the École de Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. He then conducted his post-doctoral research at the University of Torino, Italy, under grant from the Italian Government. Dr. Arabatzis was a researcher at the Research Centre on Greek Philosophy of the Academy of Athens (1998-2012) and has also been a Visiting Scholar-Research Fellow at Princeton University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Helsinki, University Charles in Prague and the University of Jassy, Romania amongst other institutions. Beyond the above-mentioned institutions where he lectured, Dr. Arabatzis has also taught philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Postgraduate program in Philosophy at NKUA, the Greek Open University and at the École de Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. He has participated in Greek and International Conferences and he is a member of Greek and International Philosophical Societies. Dr. Arabatzis’ research is focused on Byzantine philosophy, its Ancient Sources and its modern perception.
