Dr. Diotima Liantini
Dr. Diotima Liantini was born and lives in Athens. She has studied Archaeology and Art History at the University of Athens and the LMU in Munich, and Theology at the University of Athens. She holds a PhD in History of Culture Teaching in Museums. Since 2000, she teaches Religious Art History at the University of Athens, focusing on the influences of Byzantine Art on the late Medieval and Renaissance Art.
Since 2013, parallel to her academic activity, Liantini works as a licensed tour guide in Athens and in other important historical sites of Greece, giving tours and presenting the archaeological sites and museums. Her interest in tour guiding came up with the belief that culture could be taught outside of a class, visiting directly the sites, the museums and the monuments. She speaks English, German, and Italian.
