
Dr. Christos G. Karagiannis
Dr. Christos G. Karagiannis is the Academic Supervisor of Traces of Greece. He graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Theology School, Faculty of Theology, in 1992. He was granted a scholarship from the Greek Scholarship Foundation and attended the Department of Divinity of the University of Aberdeen (UK), where he received his MTh title with distinction. Karagiannis joined the archaeological expedition of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and conducted excavations in Caesaria Philippi (Banias) in the land of Israel between 1996 and 1998. He received his PhD title in 2004 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Theology.
Karagiannis was elected as a Lecturer at the same Faculty in 2007, where he still teaches Old Testament, History and Archaeology of the Old Testament and Biblical Archaeology. In 2012 he was elected as an Assistant Professor of the Old Testament. In 2013 he participated with students at the excavations in ancient Magdala – Israel while in 2015, he successfully organized Short Courses related to civilization, culture and religious tourism for the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at the city of Patra (Greece). In 2019, he became Associate Professor of the above University.
Karagiannis is the author of numerous books and scientific articles.
